Has anyone seen this message before:

“Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Disconnect your device and try again.”

Here’s what I’ve done to troubleshoot:

· Hard reset last night
· Installed ActiveSync 3.7 & 3.8
· Changed USB ports (not going through a hub)
· I have nothing selected for syncing

It will connect (SOTI Pocket Controller connects), but it won’t sync. I’m using an iPaq 5555 W2K3.


I still have the problem. I can’t get around it. Very frustrating.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hmm. You've tried all the obvious things (you tried rebooting your PC I assume?). This is a long shot, but true ActiveSync 4.0 - maybe that's one of the things that they fixed.

In my opinion, if you've done all of that... If it's still in warranty, return it!

Ugh! I hate these types of issues. AS can be a real pain-in-the-arse!!

I assume also that when you've installed different versions of AS, that you first deleted all partnerships and also uninstalled the previous versions of AS sitting on your PC?
