I'm in the market for a bluetooth headset and wanted to hear other peoples experiences.

Which ones are good -- clear, compact, good battery life, and which are bad?

My Jabra BT250 works very well. Loooong battery life (5 - 6 hours talk time) and comfortable fit make it a great friend :)

Jabra BT800, definately :) BT250 is also great, but BT800 has that "edge" ;)

on the Jabra bt800, is the display alpha-numeric?

if so, does it give the name assigned to a contact if its already in the handheld database (ie. "Dad")?

i may not recognize many of the numbers these days since most phones just give the assigned contact name....

The Jabra BT800 is a very nice unit, its displays only the incoming Ph. Number not name.

I do like the unit but found it not to be incompatible with the PPC 6600 model as it does not pick up the calls consistantly. Spoke Directly to Jabra and they informed there was an issue with it and the Audivox PPC 6600.

Apparently the Motorola and the Logitech units work very. Hope to have them in early next week to test.

hope this helps.

My Jabra bt800 does give the name in the phone's phone book. Its brilliant, because you can redial the last 10 phone calls from the display, meaning you hardly ever have to touch your phone.

The only real negatives are the size and short battery life (2-3 days), but at least it has a battery meter on the display.

I've got the Cardo 500, and I've got to say it's very impressive.

I've got a convertible, and with my old Jabra (100? 150?) I couldn't use it in the car with the roof down, but the Cardo is perfect - people never even know I'm driving, even doing 120kph with the top dropped.

And not expensive. Highly recommended.

Word is, the Jabra range is very good, and if it's a bit outside your price range, there's always the Plantronics range.

I've also heard the Logitech Mobile Freedom headset is very good (for the price, fit and audio quality). I'll be trying one out shortly, so I'll report back to let you know how well it works.
