I have a hotmail account, and I've had my PocketPC for almost a year and have yet to figure out how to sync my email to my PocketPC. Can anyone help me? Please? Thanks... :)

I dont think Hotmail allows for POP3 access. I know I can't sync it to Outlook 2000. For most of my email needs I've moved on to GMail. This will allow for free syncing with POP3 and now has over 2GB (and growing) of online storage.

PM me if you need an invite.

well, no... I got a gmail account awhile ago but was having many difficulties with never receiving emails. And then Hotmail expanded its storage, so I've stayed with. I thought there was a way to connect Hotmail as a pop3 account... maybe I had that wrong. Thanks, though!!

Hotmail via POP is a subscription feature, I believe. I even think standard HTTP access in Outlook is restricted to paying hotmail subscribers now. I think there are some Pocket PC apps that let you access your hotmail email though...I think one is WebISMail, although I don't use this, so hopefully others will know for sure.

Or you can search PocketGear or Handango for HTTP Mail. I think the app is $5.00, but it will allow you to connect to Hotmail.

so what mail servers do you all use that you're able to use your syncing capabilities with PPC?

You can only SYNC with your exchange server accounts.
and you can download mails on your pocket pc of POP3 and IMAP4 accounts. :)

So am I!

Eh, I really don't understand either of npatang's posts. With hotmail, I don't think there's a way to sync it from your desktop computer because you can't access hotmail through Outlook anymore, unless you pay for a hotmail subscription. However, there are some 3rd party apps that let you access your hotmail mail directly on your Pocket PC.

Just to clarify -- npatang was trying to differentiate the two ways of getting email on your Pocket PC -- via ActiveSync when your Pocket PC is cradled, and wirelessly.

Anyway, OSUKid7 is correct -- you cannot access Hotmail without additional software. A solution like Pocket MSN (http://mobile.msn.com/ac.aspx?cid=pmsn_market) will do the trick, although it's not free and is generally designed for wireless-based access.

I know that works. However, Outlook creates a separate folder hierarchy for the Hotmail account. Usually, ActiveSync only syncs the Personal Folders or the Exchange mailbox. Unless you've come up with some trick to make ActiveSync see the Hotmail, I still don't understand how it'd work.

Ya Janank that is correct. You cannot sync your hotmail mails from the outlook.
You can just download mails in your outlook.
I am sorry If my post confused anybody!!!!
