I was reading some articles about MS Smart Display that is nothing else than a hisres (800x600 or 1024x768) winCE device that uses the remote desktop to control a WinXP PC via WiFi....

Anybody knows if its possible to use the beyond items as a "improvised" smart display ???

1) Toshiba e800 connected to a WinXP PC using internal WiFi;
2) Nyditot software 4
2) Toshiba Presentation Pack;
3) 800x600 LCD display with VGA input and touch screen like this one.

The idea isn't too complex but i dont know if its possible.

The e800 using a 800x600 virtual resolution runs the remote desktop software to control the WinXP and output this hires image to the touch LCD display.

The Presentation Pack has a vga and a usb connection like the LCD that uses the USB to pass the touchscreen signals.

In the end the LCD works like a Smart Display.... I'm not sure if is possible to pass these touchscreen signals to the e800.

Any idea or link will be usefull.

Thanks

I would say that it would depend on if the display needs drivers. I would think it does but I'm not sure. If it does, I will go out on a limb and say that there are none.
