It's an interesting move by E-TEN, who for the past couple of weeks has been pushing the M600 as their Windows Mobile 5.0 device of the future. Since E-TEN has not made an official announcement on this update, we're happy to tag this one as a rumour for now.

Two or three members of The Howard Forums have received replies to email stating that the M500 would receieve a WM5.0 upgrade. It does actually look like it was built with an upgrade in mind since it had 128Mb ROM and 64MB RAM, like Dell's x50v

Ah! Thanks for the heads-up, Dave. I haven't visited Howard's site in a few days, so I'm glad someone's keeping track. :)

Does anyone know if this phone ever received FCC approval. I've been eyeing the m600 as a possible next device but I don't know if I'll even be able to import it.
