Hey everyone. I have purchased a PPC-660 and am having problems when I attempt to listen to a live internet stream of my favorite sports radio station. When I click on "Live Broadcast", I get the following message.....

Windows Media Player cannot play this file because the required codec is not installed.

Try using Windows Media Player 9 or later to copy the file from your computer to your device again.

I have wmp9 or later on both my computer and Pocket PC. I can't find anything on my live stream that would indicate a downloadable file that I could transfer from my computer to my pocket PC.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Could you possibly post the link that you get the station from?

It's hard to say what codec it requires without knowing the what the source of the audio stream is.

This is the audio codec, ACELP.net 6.5 Kbits/s, 8000Hz, Mono, this might help someone figure out whats wrong,

It doesn't work with WMP10 either. :( Same message and you cannot import codecs into the current versions of WMP for PPC.

It seems that way. I couldn't find it on SHOUTcast that's the only other streaming service I'm familiar with.

KFNS (http://xgen.vitalstream.com/mcasx.asxmedia=363269&package=352035) will work on your Pocket PC or smartphone. It's out of St Louis.
