Going to Europe

I'm going to be leaving for Europe this week and am wondering if there is some programs I should download to assist me while I am there. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Metro, for the Subway (for Paris) free Program, or load up a couple of dictionaries, or if driving GPS, also a conversion program for volumes, distances etc, .That's just a beginning. Hope that helps
