Chris
I had a very similar issue today with my 2750.
To solve I removed all blutooth settings from my PPC, started up the tom tom wizard, went through all the yes's then into bluetooth connection wizard, selected the explore a bluetooth device, found the device then selected the device and connected. By magic all was solved.
In navigator, I had the serial port set to 5.
Hopefully this was some help.

Got mine working but not 100% sure how, downloaded leadtech winfast navigator, used comm port 8 and nmea in the setup, asked it to factory reset my gps receiver and bam all sats found, loaded tomtom and selected other bluetooth, baud rate 38400, comm 8 and away it went, had no problems since
Good luck let me know how you get on
How did you get COM port 8 to show up in the TomTom GPS settings screen?
