How about somebody produce a device with WM2005 already. And I don't mean an announcement that it's coming...sometime. For regular folks, not just developer pre-production and special flashes.

I'm guessing the wait for the X50/X50v ROM update is unbearably long?

Let's just hope the CDs don't suffer month-long delays similar to when the X50s first shipped.

I find it amazing that it is very likely that upgrades may come out before actual new devices. At least here in the US. I think there are some Smartphone/PPCPE things coming soon in Asia/Europe.

Don't Panic!

I'll probably get a new device to get the upgrade. I'm stupid that way. That's how I got into Dell PPC's, they were first out with a WM2003SE device.

Sounds about right. It seems as though a lot of the newly-announced WM5 devices appear to be targetting the Asian market (e.g. moboDA 3360, Einstein, ETEN M600). And as far as I know, T-Mobile USA still hasn't provided a proper release date for the MDA IV. Waiting sucks. :(

Bobby, I thought you had an X50v? Or are you still adamant on getting a new device? :D

Maybe I'll "fly" to Taiwan for these devices...

It all depends on the timing.

I can get a substantial discount through my work if the release date of a new device falls within the period I can use professional development monies.

I think Dell will lead the pack again in getting a new OS device to the US. I am hoping that the hard drive PDA they plan on releasing has WM2005 as well as VGA, CF and SD card slots, Bluetooth and WiFi. Frankly I'd settle for QVGA if everything else is present. 0X
