Happy birthday Janak! There are few people who work harder on a site than you do....look at the amount of people who gain from that!

Couldn't agree more. Janak, you were always very patient and helpful with me while I was learning how to play with my new toys. Hope your birthday was a happy one and continuted luck as you work towards your Doctorate.

:bday: Happy, Happy birthday

Wow your a Hollub type guy too . I'm sure you know that he's got alot of reading material on his site (for free) if you really like the way he writes. Most of these are articles that he's written over the years for his consulting business, classes or the different computer rags. Anyway, you must buy that book it really is great and worth the money. It's one of the few computer books that will never go out of date but will still be relevante years to come. I would love to take one of his classes but I'll settle for the book.

The only downside to the book is that it's a hardcover and whenever I would doze off while reading it would always fall out of my hands with the points down. And boy are those points sharp.

Actually, it was on a strong recommendation of a colleague, so I tossed it on there. I did glance at the book and was very impressed at it. There's also very few CS books that get uniformly 5 stars on Amazon.

Ha - I was trying to think of what the heck that was an abbreviation for. I must have thought of everything but that. And yeah I must of though of Counter strike also.

Anyway Hollub is a great read and is very worth while the money and the time needed to read. His methodoligies can be be applied to any and all OO languages not just java. But you should know before hand that he is one of those OO purists that don't like getters and setters or machine generated code (for any platform) so the book addresses that audiance. I'm from the same camp so I might be biased but the ideas that he brings out are not here today gone tomorrow stuff but solid OO methedoligies that can be applied as long as we'll have OO languages around.

Take it off the wish list and pick up a copy. Just seeing that it was on your wish list makes it obvious that you'll like it.
