<a href="http://pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=17979">http://pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=17979</a><br /><br />Tired of feeling left out during those love ballads when all your cool friends are holding up a lighter, but your mom won't let you have one? Well, now you can join in!<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2005/20050523-ppclighter.gif" /><br /><br />You can control the brightness, flame size or flicker speed. You will never burn your hands and never ever run out of lighter fluid, though you may run out of battery power.

I think I'd find the Pocket PC 'Mirror' software of more use - atleast with that I can do something useful like frightening myself by looking at my ugly mug from time to time!

The animation on top is much better than the actual picture on my pocketpc. The graphics would have looked bad on a PC from 10 years ago. If the video had higher resolution and was smoother I would have bought it (I mean, whats $2? and it would have looked nice next to my monitor in the dark) but its just too ugly to tolerate on my PPC.

If it were free, I'd load it just to see the look on a friend's face when she asks me "got a light?" :devilboy:

I can believe people would download it, but not actually pay for it.
This has to get a triple eye-roll...

I think it's hysterical. But then, I'm an old person, and get laughs from inane stuff.

I don't know what's dorkier - using a PDA to simulate a lighter at a concert or...using an actual lighter at a concert. I mean, who does that anymore? :D

That gives me an idea. At college football games, we used to take our keys out and shake them during "key" plays. How about a Pocket PC application that showed shaking keys with key shaking sounds! Wouldn't that be, like, totally awesome? :rotfl:

You can create a .wmv file of these shaking keys (image and sound) and play it in full screen mode :D

As much as you think this is funny, it will never compare to Russian Roulette. (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38545)

Yeah, I want to hold up my expensive handheld electronic device just to have some drunk bump into me and cause me to drop and break my PPC.

What a stupid program.

This could be the ultimate Geek aphrodisiac.

1. Drop kids off at the sitters.
2. Make a nice meal for the spouse.
3. Dim the lights
4. Start Air Supply playlist on PocketTunes
5. Set up the Pocket PC flame screen for a virtual candlelit dinner.
6. Wait for the sparks to fly!

I went to download it thinking, hey it'd be fun for a few minutes. While clicking on the link a small thought popped into my head. "they couldn't actually be charging money for this application, could they?" I thought Naaahhh, nobody would be that stu....

I love it! The geekiness isn't reciprocated (just tolerated) in my house. I can just see my wife giving me that was-your-head-with-you-all-day-today look!

Why?

It's about the concept of the software, which is great. Read the post and it'll become clearer to you. ;)

Just for fun (and in the spirit of fire) I attempted to port this Desktop example from Microsoft/MSDN to my WM2003 PDA.

According to the original (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vcsample/html/_sample_mfc_FIRE.asp) desktop version:

Fire Version 1.0
© 1992 - 2001 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
Special Thanks to Frank Jan Sorensen for the Fire routine.

Binaries and source code are available here: http://mobileleap.net/fun/ceFire/

Maybe someone will find some cool fire settings and make a full-screen version?

I hope everybody is having a great holiday weekend!! ;)
