What a cool looking device, with 4GB of memoryWiFi and BT...to Bad it's not a PPC

Can't wait to see a PPC device like this that also has a phone and good battery life, and while we're at it thinner and lighter..
..Maybe then I'll give up my 4155 0X

"Samsung Electronics, a premium provider of mobile phones, exclusively unveils the world’s first 3GB HDD embedded music smartphone, the SGH-i300, at CeBIT 2005. This development follows its 2004 introduction of the world's first 1.5GB hard disk drive phone. This 3GB handset is the first phone featuring “Plug & Play Files-to-go,” which allows the phone to function as a removable hard disk drive. Businessmen and students can easily transfer files to / from their computers, as well as store and transfer files in any format conveniently.
Capable of storing up to 1,000 music files and featuring scroll-wheel navigation, this handset enables users to easily search files. It is perfect for people with a passion for music as the device supports 3D-sound through its stereo speakers. The i300 also enables users to download and enjoy music from not only online music services but also from OTA music services provided by mobile operators. Also featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera, the i300 supports external memory (TransFlash), which can be installed without the use of a CD via its Easy Install function."

Yes, the Samsung works great for the phone+PPC+audio folks, but for either jpgs or movies, a person ideally wants a VGA screen, yes?
If that were to be reasonably priced, would it substitute for most/all of the special-purpose photo/video "players" and field-storage devices, eg the Epson 2000, iRiver video players, Archos players, etc?

It's funny how phones are no longer marketed as phones. It's all about advertising what "other functions" the phone can do. But what geek cannot resist the i300? ;)

I was saying I didn't see any kind of gadget in that picture. Just a woman in red.

Don't worry josh, I got the joke. The blue eyed blonde was what grabbed my attention too.
Plus, that Samsung is a seriously ugly piece of kit. I guess if an owner is out in public they can use a BT headest and keep it hidden in their pocket.

Not necessarily. Watching real-world photos and videos isn't much worse on a (decent!) QVGA screen (for example, that of the iPAQ 1910, the Asus 620 or the old color Casio Cassiopeias - these QVGA PPC's have the best screens - and definitely not that of the iPAQ 2210 or on a lot of other iPAQ's or x50's) than on a VGA one. Of course, nothing can beat the screen quality (color-wise) of the hx4700 or the Pocket Loox 720 -see the example shots at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35630 (Comparative (screen) tests of VGA PDA's - a very informative thread).
VGA is of tremendous importance if you keen on reading e-books/ browsing the net on your PDA, however.

I think current VGA PDA's (or even HiRes+ Palm OS devices with BetaPlayer on them) are much better than current media devices.
