I have Microsoft Office XP Professional installed on my computer, including Outlook XP, but for some reason, Activesync does not recognize that it is there. It does not give me the option to sync and contact-related data with Outlook.
Does anyone know how to tell Activesync that Outlook is installed???? I am using the latest version of Activesync.

Did you happen to unstall Outlook (Office) after AS? Usually an uninstall of AS and then a re-install with Outlook already on the machine helps this.

Actually, what happened was that there was a demo version of Office 2003 installed on my laptop when I bought it. Not knowing this, I installed my version of Office XP, followed by AS. AS noticed the demo version of Outlook XP rather than the version that I owned, so I uninstalled both AS and the demo verison of Office 2003.
When I reinstalled AS, it wasn't (and still isn't) able to see the installed version of Outlook 2003 that I own.
All this because HP and MS installled a demo on my new laptop. Ugh.
Not sure how to fix this. I guess I might have to do a complete reformat and reinstall????
