I just noticed today that my iPAQ 2215 just turned on for a few seconds, then off for a few seconds, then back on, etc. It cycled through a few times... it looks like it's stopped doing it for now. But... what the hell??
anyone notice this too?? I don't think it's ever done that before... I'm wondering how long it's been doing that.
oh... there it goes again... it just turned on again. *sigh* and my iPAQ is not responding. I just reset it to see if it clears the problem, but I'd still be curious to know if anyone has seen this problem as well.

OK... so, my iPAQ must've been possessed or something... my normal routine is, get to work, plug my iPAQ into the cradle... code away for too many hours, unplug my iPAQ, go home... eat, sleep, lather, rinse, repeat...
but I noticed that the battery indicator was showing low on Monday and Tuesday... and being so distracted at work all I thought was to plug my iPAQ into its cradle as usual to charge it.
Yesterday (Wed) I did the usual routine... plus that odd spontaneous power on/off cycle ting... When I got home, I sat down and decided to surf the web via my iPAQ. Power button... nothing... power button... nothing... reset button... nothing... 8O
I run to my PC and plug in the sync/charger cable to see if I can get the dang thing to "wake up"... voila... powers on... and I notice my battery indicator at 0%, charging.
I'm wondering if the odd cycling of power was the iPAQ waking up to notify me that the battery level is low, but realizing that the battery level is too low to stay on and it shut off... repeat...
I kept my iPAQ connected to continue charging... and this morning, my it was fully charged...
Now I'm confused... why and how did it drain its battery to 0% if I regularly plug it into the cradle at work? I've never run into a drained battery state before during my work week routine... I thought perhaps my battery was shot so even went out and bought a spare battery for it, but the original battery is keeping a charge now... *boggle*
Oh well... and, of course, since my battery was drained, I had to completely restore my iPAQ from a backup... I'm so glad I make periodic backups. :D
