PPC Sync w/Bluetooth Adapter

Good morning.

Odd situation here. Using bluetooth adapter (D-Link (DBT 120) to be exact) to sync my PPC to my notebook. When I attempt to sync my PPC, does not successfully connect. However, when I open "My Bluetooth Places (which recognizes the PPC setup), I sync, no problem. And, while PPC is connected, if I close "My Bluetooth Places", the connection fails. I'm fairly new to using bluetooth to sync my device. Any inputs would be appreciated.

let me take a wild guess, you are using windows xp with SP2, right?
