Hey Everyone,

I just got an Audiovox XV6600 and I am trying to get some opinions on what kind of software I need to "shrink" DVD movies onto an SD card.

Can anyone recommend any programs that would help me to do this?

Dare I ask...but are there any "freebie" programs that will do it?

I don't mind paying for it...I was just curious :)

Thanks!

Fairuse... it is free if the files are smaller than 700mb I think...

Combined with Betaplayer and you should be good to go, though I do not know what an Audiovox XV6600 is...

If you don't mind paying, number 2 on the list of top PPC software on the front page of PPCT is Pocket DVD Studio. Quite a no-brainer to use, and it's dual-pass encoding so you get variable bit rate. I've used it for more than a year and love the interface.

And it supports Palm OS too, so if you have a friend with a Palm you can rip videos for them, too!

I second this combo. I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to reencoding DVDs for PPC but I found FairUse easy to use for my purposes.

In the past, I tried the popular PPC DVD converters but wasn't too impressed considering their prices.
