Sync with both desktop outlook and exchange server?

Haven't been able to find a good answer to syncing with both desktop outlook and also an exchange server. I know I can go into settings and uncheck sync with server and then sync with the desktop, but this is a pain and becomes a three step process (uncheck, sync, then check again) and has resulted in inconsistent data management (duplicate entries on outlook at work).

Is there software out there that will allow me to sync with both the exchange server and my desktop outlook without changing settings?
