Wherever possible I buy my apps from www.pocketgear.com Why? Because Handango will not accept my debit card as payment.

Everyone else it seems (and I mean every other retailer I have used without exception), worldwide will quite happily accept my VISA ELECTRON debit card. Never have a problem. Use it at Handango and they decline it.

Now OK, you may think I am being petty, but I have no other means to purchase over the net. I do not have a credit card and Handango do not accept PayPal or NoChex.

Now I have written to Handango many times and all I get is either automated replies or on the rare ocassion I get a stupid answer.... like use another card, or even (get this) give your card details in an email!

I like Pocketgear anyway, but a lot of developers are only selling through Handango or this irritating "Powered by Handango" shopping link!

I have spent hundreds of pounds on PPC software. Handango are missing out because they can't be arsed to sort this simple problem out.

In the 21st century, there's nothing worse than a vendor with a stupid hang up.

You can't run your card through as a Visa? I use my check card all over the place, and I rarely have a problem, except with non-technically inclined storefront merchants who see the checkcard logo and suddenly get a brain lock that prevents them from even trying to run it through the system. I know, the easy solution is to walk away, but it's always with something I need and a good price or not enough time to go elsewhere.

I admit to having a very silly hang up with Handango: I can't seem to get over the fact that I think the name is stupid. Handango, Fandango, whatever, I just think it's a stupid word and a turn off. However, last year when they were offering a free app a week over the Christmas season, I was able to put that aside and participate.

:D LOL, yes I too got the free Xmas apps. Though most of them were of little use to me. (Still gift horse and all that...)

Anyway as I said I can use my card everywhere else around the world. A big corpo like Handango should be able to sort this.

I love the feedback forms you get when you have dealings with them. I filled them very accurately stating that I thought they were poor in customer service, I wouldn't recommend them and would never buy from them again.

Maybe these negative feedback responses get auto deleted because no one sat up and thought to reply to me and ask what on earth made me feel this way about them and how can we put this right.

Time for another trip to www.pocketgear.com me thinks

I didn't bother with the feedback forms. I found them to be a nuisance.

I normally stick to freeware applications. Hard to justify software to my wife...
