Frist experiences with Avvenu.

I wanted to try it out. I installed the software on my pc without any issues. I didn't read the part about the promo code, but once I got that info, the install went well.

I have been using the service on my Dell X50 and MPX220. Since the Dell has the high res screen, my photos are smaller, but very clear. It is a bit slow on the MPX 220 b/c the phone only supports GPRS, not EDGE.

All and all I really like the service. Its nice to have access to my home PC when I am at work and traveling around.

Has anyone else tried it out yet? I am wondering if photos appear correctly on a regular res PDA.

This depends primarily on which browser you are using. PIE tends to scale them to fit the screen, but if you use a browser such as NetFront, you have the option of having it shown in full size or scaled to fit the screen. Overall though, I find the pictures display quite well on my QVGA device.

FYI, they're working on adding a few new enhancements in the not-too-distant future, and all old and new beta users will be provided with a year's worth of service for free. :)
