For those of you who've been eyeing a X50v but dreading the cost of an additional battery, this sounds like a pretty good deal. :D Note the deal expires Wednesday, so make sure to decide soon.

Very tempting! I’ve click on the link three times now and then changed my mind to stay with my little X3i. Can someone give me a good reason not to get this? Should I wait until the next version of Microsoft’s OS?

I've got the Dell Axim x30i - not as flashy on the multimedia but has the 624MHz processor and 64MB of RAM (Bluetooth, 802.11b, yadda yadda yadda) and it is awesome...until the 50v comes down in price a bit more...the x30i is the best PPC bargain on the planet.

Good deal but this battery is not the extended battery. My extended battery is 2200 mAh but the battery in this deal is the standard 1100 mAh.

Oops, thanks. I'll fix.

Must resist...! Must resist...!

I've been wanting one of these since they were released as a stock, review device.

I may wait a while longer to see if the price comes down any more. I also want to get one of the iPAQ Messengers, too...

If you add it to the cart then click adjust item you can change your options and still get the discount. Such as changing it from the standard to the extended battery.

I've never seen an x50v with the extended battery.
What does it do to the form factor? Is there a bulge in the back?
Does anyone have a picture?

It's about twice as thick, and has a different battery cover... So yeah, there's a bulge.

But some people like it :)

Ugh! Thanks for the pic and for saving me from making a mistake and buying one of these.
I played with one for a while and quite liked it except the battery life and I could never live with that box strapped to the back.

i am one of 3 people with the extended battery at my workplace, and i believe it actually diminishes the danger factor with this PPC. the silver parts on the x50v feel like they are made of teflon. i have dropped mine more times in the few months i have had it than i did with both my h3975 and h5555 put together (2/12 years, approx). the extended battery seems to catch your (my) hand just right, i haven't dropped it since purchasing it.

in addition, as pretty as that screen is, this PDA is near useless without the extended battery. it never made it all the way through a workday until i upgraded :)

I really like having the extended battery, especially with the PDA encased in the PDair aluminum hard case. It doesn't feel ungainly at all.

It's rugged and runs a really long time on a single charge.
