What a good movie. I won't spoil it, but it was rather good.

I did some research and the house they used in the movie seems to be a little bigger and different looking than the supposed real one.

The actual house seems to be a tad smaller, but it has those two creepy windows!

I have read lots on the 'net, and it seems to be a true, sad story. I want to read the book now.

One of the latest owners of the house was tired of the publicity of owning this house and so they took out the two creepy windows and put regular square ones in there! They also changed the address! Word has it that the last owner is restoring the house to its orginal grandeur, so hopefully putting those cool windows back.

The only true part of that story is that the murders did really take place in the house. The rest is pretty much all fiction. Good fiction, but another case of duping the public into believing a "true" story!

I read the book years and years ago, and saw the original movie once or twice. Freaked the holy hell out of me.

I stood in line for a few hours last fall to try to get a part as an extra in the movie; the majority of it was filmed near my hometown. I didn't make it.

Jon,

It seems that they are many sources claiming many different things happened that night. Because Wikipedia is a place in which users submit the information, it may not be a good source for information - so it is basically like any other site out there.

I believe in the Paranormal and I think that this could have happened. I was just more interested that they changed the house look for the movie lol.

KellyBelly, too bad you weren't an extra - but I didn't see very many other people in the movie that could have been extras apart from the dinner scene and the library.

That's kind of what I thought while we were waiting ... I really don't remember there being a whole lot of people in the movie.

I remember reading the book and it DID scare the hell out of me.

One part involves the daughter seeing a 'pig' outside her window...and it had red eyes.

So I'm lying in bed, trying to sleep after reading and

I CAN SEE TWO RED EYES OUTSIDE MY WINDOW!!! O MY GAWD!

...it was the reflection of my LED clock radio in the window.

To this day, I either buy green LED radios OR I TURN THEM AWAY FROM THE THE WINDOW.

It's amazing how reading a story so many years ago can make changes in your life, even stupid changes.
