Have you ever bought software after the trial or after reading a review and now don't use it? If so, please share... what is it and why?

That is a brilliant question which can help potential buyers as much as the 'Best Software' posts found everywhere. I've surprised myself recently by how much I've 'offloaded' over the past year because of problems or disuse. Here's my list. No offense intended to any developers; this is one consumer's opinion.

Agenda Fusion - Gave it up due to unresolved technical problems.
Pocket Informant - Ditto, plus decided to simplify and use the built-in PIM with Pocket Breeze.
ListPro - Just never used it. Turned more often to 'Notes' and 'Word'.
Laridian Bible Reader - Discovered Pocket e-Sword. Does more for free.
Mapopolis - Expense vs. times I used it while mobile didn't justify renewal.
NoteM - Doesn't work right on WM2003.

EDIT:
cLaunch - Love it, but discovered PHM Tray Launch (part of PHM Power Tools). Makes more room for Pocket Breeze.

i didnt buy it, but i no longer use pocket e-sword based on all the memory it took up in my device. 3M+ for the program, 3M+ for the SQL install, and then room for the bibles too. not to mention being slooooow

It's plenty fast on my unit. Takes 15 seconds to load then performs quickly. Maybe performance varies. Everything in the Pocket e-Sword Folder (.exe & other required files) totals up to under 1mb. The current version isn't a fat app. I have my Bibles and reference books on a card.

Agenda Fusion - switched to Pocket Informant
dNote - lack of updates (pity too, i really liked it)
PocketMusic - GSPlayer just sounds better to me.
VOShoppingList - lack of VGA support (again, pity, a great program otherwise; a free competitor, HandyShopper might be the one to watch)
KeepTrack - i use the Desktop version religiously, but MANY sync problems ending in lost data keep me from using the PPC version.

and one freebee:

cLaunch - easily the best today screen launcher ever developed, unfortunately completely screwed up in VGA mode. i have had to switch to pocketplus (and it is NOT as good)

I tried eSword and it has a problem with memory on my device (Jornada 568). I'd like to take advantage of the free ESV, but nope. But, Laridian is good and I use that.

Looking at my Add/Remove list

Aspecto Dynamo (before it became freeware)
NotesToday
Riverland Screensaver
IA Caller ID
Livingsoft flashcards
RingtoneX
PDAMill Snails
Pockethotmail
HTTPMail provider
Caller2picture
Spb Time
Arakball
Pocketweather
Nicestart
Startpad
Today Calender
AchieveIT
Textmaker
Twopeaks Perfecthome

Apologies for any freeware inadvertently included. Obviously I have paid for PILES of software I dont use (not currently installed on my pocketpc) but I dont really mind, as pocketpc software is cheap. I hope this is a message to developers - if its cheap inhibitions against buying is very low, and Im likely to buy on impulse. If its expensive (>$20) I'll think about it a long time, and probably end up not buying it at all.

What a great thread!

WebISMail
I got for HTML e-mails and better managing of multiple accounts. After using it for a month I went back to Inbox because it just worked better.

Pocket TV Browser
I paid $5 to get rid of the nag screens and the next week replaced it with Pocket TV Listings.

Snails
I bought it partially for the online multiplayer feature. 6 months later that feature still doesn't actually exist in the game. It's still a good game.

Crazy Kart
Great racing game for the price but it just took too long to load up. Replaced it with Flux Challenge.

Resco Keyboard Pro
It would be great if you use the keyboard. I use Block recognizer though.

My list goes way back to Windows CE so and I don't even want to know how much I spent.

Most of it worked but either lost compatability each time I upgraded to a new operating sys or it just wasn't what I expected.

One big surprise was when I got my H2210 and one of the included games, Jawbreaker, is something I bought from Casio years ago. It use to be called Bubblets. I still have the CDROM.

There was only one that didn't work.
Tweaks2k2 by http://www.pc-counselor.com/.
And for a stupid reason too.

I bought it on September 3rd and the "key" they sent me doesn't work. The guy that finally replied 11 days later on September 14th, Frank J., implied "warez". I guess that's some kind of cheating. All I know is that I bought it for personal use and not to share. I paid them through their direct link using my well established paypal account and the payment was accepted and confirmed. I've NEVER been able to use it past the trial and they simply ignore my emails. Not nice!

Well, That's been my only really bad software experience with PPC software. I guess I'm glad it wasn't more expensive. Fact is that I thought it worked pretty well untill the trial ran out.

Frank J., if you're reading this, please respond to my emails. I have proof and can back up what I stated.

Here is my extensive list:

Blaster Man - Actually got a refund from PocketGear after complaining about the registration process. I will not purchase any software that requires my device ID for registration. Too much hassle when changing devices.
Cal XPress - Switched to AF
Contact Viewer - Replaced by AF
Dashboard - Tooooo sloooow.
Data On The Run - Problems accessing database
DB Anywhere - Confusing interface
DB2 Hand - Same as above
Double Launcher - Don't need it with hx4705
HPC Notes Standard - Kept mixing up or deleting precious Notes. Built-in Notes or AF Notes works fine for my needs.
List Maker - Not as good as List Pro
Minutes Maker - Suffered from a lack of use
Notepad Express - Install problems
Notes Today - Cute, but not needed
PE Net Explorer - Locked up WiFi
Picture Perfect - Not being used
Pocket Earth - Does not like anything but RAM, and takes up too much space to keep there.
Pocket Informant - Just prefer Agenda Fusion
Pocket Sys Watch - Caused lockups and hard resets on 5450
Pocket World - Same as Pocket Earth above
Pocket Day - Runs slow
pTravel Alarm - Not worth the space it takes up
Simple Tunes - Not compatible w/HP Bluetooth headphones
Stocks & Weather Today - Replaced by Journal Bar
Super Calendar - Use AF for all PIM functions
Super Explorer - Incompatible w/ 5450
Talking Calculator - Novelty, but can get on your nerves
Task View Today - Does not work with current version of AF
Tom Tom Navigator 2004 - Not compatible w/ hx4705 running iPAQ BT keyboard
Top Key Keyboard - Too slow
Voice MP3 - Novelty, but not as good as other players
Word Logic - Kept crashing on 5450

Never really got my money out of Pocket SlideShow - but I did just download the latest rev - to check it out on my new X50v. Tried Pocket Artist and loved it - but couldn't rationalize paying its high admission price for the privilege to continue using it.
I can't resist - here is one title that I find VERY useful - Acrobat Reader. Where I work many many documents are saved as pdfs -- It is Sweet to have such a good product.

There's probably some more that I'm missing in the list below but just going through my purchase history at Handango...

GAMES

Anthelion: The Galactic Alliance I bought it because it was on sale for $9.95 and it got rave reviews. It looked good but I never got into it. I may give it another go later.
Argentum: This is war This game got awesome reviews and I got it for $9.95. But I couldn't get into RTS gaming on my PPC. I may give it another chance later.
DARXIDE EMP Another game with good reviews which I never got acclimated to. But for $6.99, I thought it was worth a shot.
Tower Mogul I got this one because it t was on sale for $5.99 and it received good reviews. It's a sim game like Sim Tower.
Crazy Kart It was on sale for $6.99 and I like kart racers. But I found the controls too difficult and not very responsive. Too frustrating to play.
Warlords II This game is awesome. I never played the PC version but I found the PPC port to be simply fun. I played it for many months almost every day. I'm waiting for Warlords III.
Snails I found it too difficult to play. Where's the help file? I should probably give it another go.
Cecraft Pinball: Crystal Caliburn I should reinstall this one as I don't remember why I'm not playing it. :)

APPS

HandyMenu Some of its functionality overlapped with PocketPlus so I didn't need it as much. But for $2.99, who can complain?
PIEPlus I used for a while when I had a wireless CF card connected to my 2215. After a hard reset, I couldn't get the wireless card to work anymore so I don't use IE.
PIToday I had used PIToday since its first release but recently replaced it with PocketBreeze which I found to be much cleaner and easier to use.
The Original PoQuick Money Pro I got it because it was $1. I'm currently using Spb Finance.
SnoopSoft Dashboard At the time, this was an awesome program. But many other programs now do what it does and does it better. I'm using Spb Pocket Plus.
Spb Imageer Good program but I don't need to edit images on my PPC. Rather than an image editing program, I need some thing that will automatically optimize my photos for the PPC and create slide shows. Imageer can do all that too but it's a manual process.

Pocket Informant I still have it installed but now that I'm using PocketBreeze, I may not need it (I got it mainly for its agenda view). It may or may not make it back after the next hard reset.

i've downloaded the trial versions of the following and decided to uninstall after a few days, for the same reason - too complicated for my needs as of the moment:

Pocket Informant
Agenda Fusion

I deleted a number of files simply because I didn't use them very often and I use an old 3835 Ipaq with 206mhz processor as opposed to the latest 624mhz. I use PDA sized websites 90% of the time and wanted to minimize the amount of memory being used so my surfing would be faster.

AchieveIt - didn't use
Avantgo - didn't really delete, just never download anymore
ConverterCE - freebie didn't use
Creative Notes - thought you could hand write notes but you cannot
F-Secure FileCrypto - freebie
iLauncher - use freebie cLaunch instead (larger icons)
Mobile News - good, but I started using Skweezer for RSS simply because if I want to read the detail behind the headline, Skweezer makes the PC sized screen fit to my PPC
Pocket Mechanic - not smart enough to use
Super Calendar - went back to basic PIM
Quick Agenda - same as above
Resco Keyboard Pro - decided I didn't need a red or blue keyboard
Splash Photo - not enough photo's...too much memory if I had many
Stocks and Weather Today - great program, just got bored with it
TdLaunch - using cLaunch
Thunderhawk - rarely ever use (won't spend $50 for another year)
TreNotes - ListPro is far superior
Tweaks2k2 - used one hack and MemMaid did the same thing
WIMR - freebie and MemMaid does the same thing
Netfront - actually I still use it but only for the one or two secure websites that I can't get to with PIE and MultiIE

I've purchased but have since abandoned:

1) Novasec's Facelift - don't need it for skinning anymore, or for the battery meters as they took up too much valuable Today screen space
2) JournalBar - switched to WeatherPanel, never used the RSS feeds or extra features, plus it suffered from various bugs and/or memory leaks
3) JournalPro - a diary/note program, was really good and had a companion desktop software, just didn't want to take the time to input info using PPC's input methods
4) JSLandscape - screen rotation program, never worked easily or without crashing my PPC
5) AgendaFusion 4.X - Used for awhile, then tried switching from that to PI for awhile, but eventually just ended up using default PIM, now enhanced by PocketBreeze to do everything I need
6) Pocket Informant 4.6X - see above, don't use anymore, especially not enough to justify constant upgrading costs
7) Journal Sync for Pocket Informant - could never figure out the use of this at all, it seemed like a good idea at the time but really just a waste of $8 or so
8) SimCity 2000 - awesome game, just don't play it anymore, the screen is just so small 8O
9) TowerMogul - ditto
10) PPX - LOVED this program when it came out, spent lots of time and energy creating tons of skins, but then development stalled, and the new "alpha" or beta or whatever had issues with some of my favorite plugins, and now some structural changes would mean spending lots more time going back and editing/repackaging most of my old UIs, which I just don't want to do. The benefits of WA2 and PocketBreeze just seem to outweigh those of PPX in my opinion, so I don't skin for it anymore.

And as for freeware I don't use anymore . . . .

1) cLaunch - still a really cool plugin, but iLauncher is way better and you can place shortcuts on the bottom taskbar
2) TotalCommander - my Ipaq came with a free version of Resco Explorer which I now love, even if I can't find the very handy "Copy To/Move To" feature TotalCommander had :?
3) TodayPlayer - let you put a music plugin on your Today screen, cool for awhile but decided I didn't really need that functionality and Today screen space used for a music player, moved to GSPlayer which is only a tap away anyway, and haven't looked back
4) Any previous version of Wisbar - from Pelmar's version to WisbarAdvance 1.X, each new iteration gets way cooler - now with WA2 I can't imagine not having my system menus and toolbars skinned anymore, it just looks so boring and plain without the matching skins. :D

So what's the best Pocket Outlook enhancement yuou ever bought?
