Hello there,

I have to develop some code to communicate with a measurement device which communicates only via RS-232 (DB9).

I would like to know what the most inexpensive way to add this type of interface/connector to a Pocket PC is.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Andre

Some PocketPCs can talk RS232 natively. I think the iPaqs still do it, and I'm pretty sure at least most of the Axims can as well, though you might need a work-around if the device on the other end doesn't assert DTR before transmitting. Worst case scenario, you can always get a serial interface CompactFlash card, though they're kind of expensive.

Check out the cables at http://www.pc-mobile.net .

Presumably if they have a serial cable for a listed Pocket PC, then that Pocket PC supports serial (in some fashion, anyway).
