If you need a another reason to never buy a SanDisk product read the following exchange. This is all in regards to my 256 SD card that failed 3 months after I bought it. Note the dates. Also know that I first contacted them about the bad card about two weeks before this first stupid message from them!

Thats a weak response. I see these cards hanging on hooks in the store unsold and you're telling me 3-5 weeks after waiting a few weeks just for you to receive it??

I love the line -

Unfortunately availability of some products has been impacted due to strong sales

Which obviously sounds to me like they would rather sell a card then use a card to satify their warranty obligation to an existing customer.

Considering the failure rate of their cards I'd say they must be busier in the warranty department than in the sales department.

If this is the case I must me the world´s luckyest San Disk buyer. I have 7 card wich I have bought in the last few years and I have never had any problem (knock on wood). But for me the only reason why I have bougth SanDisk is the low low price.

It seems to be hit and miss with SanDisk. There are threads on this and other boards cursing them for failures. If you happen to be unfortunate enough to have one go bad their customer service, as you can see above, stinks.

I'm with you. I've had 6 with zero problems! No particular alligence to sandisk, simply price and quality! Though I am a little pissed that they've dropped the ball on the 2GB SD card and shifted resources to development of even smaller cards to be used in smartphones  !

I'm in the Jerry club. The vast majority of Sandisk memory cards I've had have failed. I have never opted to exercise their warranty, as I didn't figure they'd send me a Kingston or Lexar, and I had no need for any more Sandisks.

I'd be interested seeing if there's a regional variation in this. I don't have any Sandisk memory cards, but I do have their SDIO Wi-Fi card. So far, I've plodded along without any problems.

That is an interesting thought. By the way, the above mentioned card was a miniSD. This does bring me up to 2 SanDisk cards that have failed. The other was a normal SD 256.

I've now had two Sandisk items go bad but their Canada RMA dept. seems to be quite on top of things.
two out of perhaps 12 or so assorted USB, CF, SD, Wifi, Wifi with memory cards.
I'm happy with them thus far and would buy again.

They sent me an email saying my replacement card shipped on April 5th. So from around Feb 15th until now. I still dont have it in my hands either. :bad-words:

That's a lengthy wait. It seems as though luck is not on your side when it comes to Sandisk. :?

And they know you don't belive them becasue only a fool would belive something about 4/1.

I've had 1 CF gobad and one SD go bad. One of my 256SDs is a little wierd. It works but once there's around 150MB in it, whatever else goes in may be unreadable. I'v scandisked and defraged it. Defrag can never complete.

grr Sandisk is the only brand I've ever had go bad now that I think about it.
