Hi everybody, I have just recieved my CF Targus PA560 56K V90 modem for my pda.
I Own a Toshiba e570 with windows pocket pc 2002. Before setting my true ISP settings I try making a call to a cell phone, just to see if it dials.
Well, it doesnt. I went to connectins, clicked on modify under internet connections (first of the three) and created new connection. It recognizes the modem correctly. The Baud rate is set to 19200 but can go to 115200.
I leave the default option. I click next. Now, I leave in Greece, so country code is +30, so I put 30 there (if I leave it blank it will add +0 automatically, instead of +30). I don't insert an area code. Then the phone number, which is 6999 xxx xxx (without spaces).
NEXT. "Cancel if not connected within" is checked, and 120sec is set.
I UNCHECK "Wait for dial tone", as Greece's tone is not the same as The US one. (Note that modem is bought from Canada).
I click finish, tapandhold and click connect.
Nothing happens for a long time.
I then tried picking up the phone. This is what I did:
1. Pickup the phone (I hear the normal tone)
2. Click connect.
3. I hear the normal tone for 6 more secs, and then it is a lot more silent, It is now deep, which means that the modem is interfeering (and its led is on now)
4. Nothing..... (yes, it does nothing! it just stands there...)
So, I have tried to reset, unplug and replug... anything.
What do I do?
