When the new OS comes out will I be able to upgrade my brand new Ipaq? I just bought it less than 24 hours ago and rumors are already about a new OS!

It's up to HP. Read this (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38577) and you'll know why.

Since each maker releases its own ROM updates, whether or not an uograde is released for a particular model is up to them. When WM2003 was updated to WM2003SE, Toshiba was one of the few to release any ROM updates at all and they chose to only update two of their model lines. Judging by history, even though PPCs have been upgradable since they began using flash ROM to hold the OS image, few are carried along when a new OS version is released.

MS is pushing an update process where they release updates related directly to the core OS while the device makers release updates that involve their own bundled apps and/or hardware. However, right now it's all talk and OS updates must come from the PPC maker.
