I've seen the Garmin iQue 3600a which looks quite nice, but there is flight planning software for the Pocket PC that I want also. I'm new to the PDA thing and know nothing about them. Some opinions and guidance would be appreciated.

Basically, your premise is: Which is better for me?
I would offer this:
1 - In flight, the last thing I want you to be foolin' around with is either (Pocket PC or Palm)
2 - To my knowledge, the Pocket PC platform offers the greatest flexibility and widest hardware/software selection.
3 - If you pick it yourself, you'll learn about it - you'll be better at making decisions because you'll know the limitations of your selection. If you buy what I tell you to buy, you'll be settling for someone else's opinion of what will be good for you... How can that be good?
3 - Lastly, you say "There's some flight planning software for the Pocket PC [blah, blah, blah] - so pick a Pocket PC, buy the GPS hardware/software, and the flight planning software and get to learning.
And by the way - keep your eyes on the sky ahead of you!
