When I was a kid, my parents had an old big screen projection TV. For some reason the screen needed to get replaced (I think it was cracked). A GIANT MAGNIFYING GLASS! 8O

It was probably 40 inches or so. Now, a magnifying glass this size isn't very useful for reading or other "normal" uses, so we obviously decided to use it for burning stuff. It took two people to hold it and angle it right, but on a sunny day it would burn through a big Sunday edition newspaper in a few seconds. I accidentally set my shoe on fire once while we were trying to point it. This thing was POWERFUL.

I wish we had taken pictures. Next time I'm at my parents house I'll have to see if they still have it.
