Is there truth to this HP tech support answer?

I sent a question to HP via their support page.

the question was "I have an iPAQ H3955 ppc2002 with the dual slot PC card expansion. Can I use a CompactFlash card + PC card adapter in this expansion sleeve"

The answer was "no, you need to use the CF card expansion to use CF cards"

is this true? Does anyone have first hand experience with this?

That was incorrect. You can use a CF/PC Card Adapter with either the Dual or single slot PC Card sleeves. I had both for my 3975. As long as you have the drivers/software for a CF periphreal it will work fine, even better actually because your getting that extra power from the sleeve.

at first I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the misunderstood me and thought I wanted to plug a CF card right into the pc card sleeve...

but the link to the purchase page just ticked me off.
