Well i went out and bought the Streets and Trips with GPS locator from Futureshop today, installed the software and did everything it told me to do, but nothing

IT keeps asking me for a USB driver. Ive tried all sorts of things but it keeps asking for it or it says it cannot install the GPS.

The GPS (pharos 360) does power on with a solid blue LED but thats is far as it goes.

BTW: The GPS unit does work on my regular pc, so it does work

If anyone knows how to get this thing to work, please give explicit instructions on how to? Thank you very much.

A quick question for you, are you connecting the 360 via a USB host cable or a CF card?

It wouldn't ask for a USB driver if the iGPS-360 was connected to the Toshiba via a CF card, now would it?

On the other hand, if you connect the receiver to the PPC via USB cable, it will ask for the USB driver, available here: http://download.pharosgps.com/download/NewUSB.htm or possibly on one of the disks in the package, if you haven't already installed it.

Easier for me than for you then: I have a Toshiba e335 and the Pharos iGPS-360, so I already knew what the OP was looking for.

Well arn't we a smartass!... you know this is why people don't bother to help . Did it ever occur to you that some how I might have miss read the post? As for the USB question, have you ever connected the Streets & Trips GPS to a Toshiba? Having the USB driver doesn't always help... I can tell you from experience with my own E830 and the i360 included with the MS streets & Trip package that it doesn't always work.I was forced to hack the reg on the E830 to get it to work.

Yeah, sometime earlier today :-)

Yes, that's why I knew what the OP was looking for. The Streets+Trips GPS receiver is a Pharos iGPS-360; and I am using one of these connected to a Toshiba e335.

Please, let's remember that the use of emoticons and plain typing don't always convey how we are truly feeling when we type our responses. Let's give each other the benefit of the doubt and take it offline when we feel we may have been slighted!
