Hi there,
Recently, a friend bought i-mate PDA2K and subscribed to T-Mobile internet service. She had found it impossible to access the web despite all attempts to guide her through the process of getting connected by T-Mobile and I. Is there anybody out there in the USA who uses i-mate PDA 2K with service from T-mobile who can advise us on this?
Kay.

Does she have a data plan with T-Mobile?

If she does:

Goto Start->Settings->Connections Tab->Connections

Choose Add a new Modem Connection

Enter A name say TMobile or GPRS or anything you want

Choose Cellular Line (GPRS) from the drop down list.

Click Next

For the APN (Access Point Name):

Enter in internet3.voicestream.com if she has the VPN data plan
or internet2.voicestream.com if she has the standard data plan.

Click Next

User Name, password and Domain leave blank

Select Finish

Try and connect to the internet to verify that it works.

Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks for your advice. This same process was what I went through with her and T-Mobile repeated the same thing without any success. She also asked for help from club i-mate and she was adviced to download a certain program, which she did. Yet, this has not solved the problem. She is still in a fix as to how to solve this problem. More suggestions are welcome please.
Kay.

Kay,

If she has another GSM/GPRS phone(or can borrow one from a friend that is either 'SIM unlocked' or a T-mobile phone should could check to see if she can access the web with that device. If not she may have to call someone in Tmobile tech support and they can reapportion her account, I remember when I switched from basic TZones to full VPN the account didn't work properly and had have then reprovision the account. If she is still having problems she could head down to a Tmobile store and have them try the internet access on one of their phones to verify it is working...

She can also try the autoconfigurator here:

https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clients/tmobileus/ota_support/getNumber.asp?selectedOption=internet

Have her choose the HP6315 the configuration is the same...

It is pretty much the same steps...

Funnything is that it gives wap.voicestream.com. as the APN...for all connections...

Sorry it didn't work out...hopefully this will help lead to a solution...
