Have PPC 2003 SE on Toshiba e830, would like to start using GPS here in Canada, and even for my trip to San Francisco. I see all sorts of postings that are helpful but still thought I would ask what anyone might recommend for GPS software that I could use for a Garmin GPS 10 that I am thinking of buying, Bluetooth model that I think just came out, or does Mapsource City, the software that comes with Deluxe Garmin GPS 10 do the job? Can you pretty well combine any BT GPS with any software? If anyone has a good combo, I would like to hear about it, given the paramater of mostly using in Canada, but also being able to use in the U.S for the odd driving holidays. Will the Bluetooth version 1.2 work on GPS Bluetooth hardware, or am I going to have problems?

I've been using my Garmin10/Garmin Que-City Select for about a week now and I really like it. I don't get near Canada, but it is included with the package. The sensor works fine with my Bluetooth 1.2 on the ASUS 730. I installed the Garmin Que program in RAM (takes about 3MB) and put the basemap and detailed maps in the SD card and it works great! Program is very efficient--seems to use only about 2.5MB RAM as it runs, including detailed and basemap sections. I've been having fun with all the different POI's it has stored too. I think you would like this combo.
Anybody else out there using Garmin 10/Garmin Que?

I bought the Deluxe version of GPS 10 a month ago. Other than having problems loading the detailed maps on to the PPC initially, I have had no problems with it. The Deluxe version comes with the maps, which Garmin calls CitySelect. I have loaded maps of Greater Toronto and southern Ontario and have gone skiing while running the software on the PPC. It was quite accurate.
The maps included are okay. The street that I live on is a little over a year old, and it's on there. However, the street that my friend lives on isn't on the map, as the area he moved to is quite new. I won't blame Garmin with this as Mapquest, MSN Maps or Google Maps don't have his street either.
I will be going on a road trip this summer from Calgary to Yellowstone Park, Mt. Rushmore and then eventually, end up in Winnipeg. Hopefully the GPS will prove to be a good investment!!
