How do I create a wireless connection between IPAQ and tablet PC

I have an IPAQ 4150 and a tablet PC. Both have wireless links but i cant get the 2 to link up at all. The tablet pc tries to connect to centrino? I have no idea whether this is a forign network or part of the wireless protocol. I would like to use the tablet PC to enable me to set up a wireless network in the house. I am not very technical more a user than anything and i need some simple advice on how to set it all up. Someone did once set it up as a guest relationship, but i had to hard reset once and lost that as well. This did not enable me to use the tablet internet link to access the net through explorer.

You need to set both machines up for "ad hoc" (as opposed to "infrastructure") networking.
Set the SSID to for example SimonM on both machines (case sensitive).
Set the channel number to the same on both machines.
Disable WEP encryption (you should enable it when everything works).
Disable powersaving (if there)

And it should magically just work! :)
