Ok, so maybe it was just a wild dream but, I thought I saw an article about a program that allows you to use your Pocket PC as an extension of your Windows XP desktop. You can drag windows over to it and let them run with their display on the Pocket PC. It's like having 2 monitors but the secondary is your Pocket PC.

I though sure I'd seen this in the last year but can't find anything in a search. Does anyone know anything about this. Am I dreaming/crazy/fill in blank? I believe it required .net.

Thanks,

Bill B

Bill,

While an interesting idea, I know of no such application.

Thanks. I checked it out. It sounds like what I want but it is very slow and the author's web site is down. Hmmm.

I wrote a review on another app thats the same as the one mentioned above that is 2 times the cost for 1 license which runs on one PC and one connected PPC. Check out Desktop Rover it was announced her a few months ago.

Originally it was for PC to PC pass-through but in the latest version they just added on PPC passthrough.

I tested it and there is NOTHING slow about this application at all.

Their webpage -

Also whats nice is once you have the connection if you have Wifi you can still use it without it even being docked.

Oh yeah and one last thing I don't think you can drag windows over but you can copy over clipboard stuff.

This is different from the software I tried. The stuff on PocketGear didn't seem to require a client on the Pocket PC though I don't know how it would work without one. As I said, it appears to have similar functionality but was very slow. This could be better.

Although this is probably what I was remembering, it's not what I'm looking for.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
