I have a question - Is a sync and charge cable ok for the battery on my ipaq 3700?
Will it wear out the battery sooner?

Compaired to the charger / cradle that came with my ipaq h3700, the usb port puts out less voltage.

Thanks for your help!

Nope, it's just not guaranteed to charge it because the maximal Amperage it is able to give the PDA is around 0.5A (sometimes more, sometimes less, but definitely not over 1 Ampers), while the PDA, especially when switched on, can require around 1 Ampers.

The problem of the limited amperage will most articulated when you try to charge not only slightly discharged (in general, under 50-60%) batteries - in some cases, charging won't even 'kick in' in situations like that.

the Voltage is OK (5V); it's the Amperage that is pretty scarce with USB-based charging.
