Interesting...this actually seems to mimic the Palm "Shortcuts" functionality.

Anybody remember AccessPanel from Developer One?

Update: links here -> http://www.developerone.com/accesspanel/index.htm

I installed this product which has great merit. But it would be far better if the editing interface could be made on the PC and not just on the PPC!

Wow, the best enhancement idea we got on TapText so far.
We'll defiantly look into this. :)

I love the typo in Dinarsoft's post that instead of definitely looking into an enhancement, they are defiantly doing it. Wow, that's funny. You'll do it no matter what!!!

How about a drag and drop menu system so the user can define the order they want in the drop down menu? This is possible if the interface is on the PC and transferred over to PPC.

I am really appreciating this product!

If you made it more secure somehow without bogging down with passwords, this would be great for software registration codes, my kids Social Security numbers, and lots of things I tend not to memorize.

I have done lots of hard resets and setting up Taptext as the first thing I could then use it to add the registration codes to all the other apps I use!

Blame the typo on MSWord's auto correct :)

One of the other features we're looking at, is a password protected entries (saved encrypted at the menu defination file).

The menu you designed is saved into "\My Docuemnts\TapText.dmd" which you can backup if you want.

Any chance that text entry can be cut and paste from Pocket Word or other area of the PCC? I copied a url and tried to paste it in Taptext editor and it would not work. This again would save effort in tapping text to, er, save tapping later! :?

This is already at the top of our to-do list :)
Thanks

What I was about to say is maybe it wasn't a typo!

Hi,
TapText has been updated,
We added a small helper menu in the edit dialog (copy, cut, paste and undo).
Hopefully this will make it easier to paste copied text from other applications.

Please let us know what do you think

Is there a way to stop this from capitalizing the first letter of each line when it is inserted into a document? I would prefer it to insert exactly what is in TapText and not change the case of a certain letters in the text application you are working in.
Is this a limitation of Notes/PWord or TapText itself?

This has to be a limitation in the program your inserting the text into.
TapText inserts "exactly" what you configure it to insert.

Do you know of a work around for this then or a way to force the case? I have tried it with Notes, Pocket Word and Pocket Inbox and they are all affected the same.
If for example I have a signature with my name, email address and site, typically I write my email lower case i.e. andy@
however when I use Taptext (with the email entered in all lowercase), this text is inserted as Andy@

It affects the first character of each line however these 3 apps will be used by the majority of PPC users during text entry I would imagine and I am sure it will affect other apps.

We have just tested this with Notes and Pocket Word, and it is actually a problem with those applications cause even if you try to type using the keyboard, the application changes the first the letter to capital letter.

We will try to find a solution for you and get back yo you soon.

Thats great, I appreciate your efforts.
One thing I have noticed though, If I copy lower case text and then paste it on a new line in any of these apps, the pasted text remains in lowercase - is there anyway to have TapText mimic the clipboard to insert the text into these apps? I realise this may not be a big problem for many but it is a nice to have I guess.

The latest version is still 1.0 (it's 1.0.2.4)
This is the version you get from HandAnGo
There is going to be a small update soon for forcing the first letter case (see above messages)

Dear Sir,
Please download the latest version of TapText
The new version (1.0.3.5) forces the first letter to follow the case you used.
Please give it a try and let us know

Just tried this new build and the letter case works exactly as entered in TapText originally. Great stuff and thanks for addressing this.
