File Downloading Status

Hi,
I am using windows XP operating sys.Whenever I try to download a file by double clicking it,the dialog-box indicating the download progress does not open.What should be done to make it reflect on my browser so that I know if the file download is being completed.Thank you!!!

Thanks for your reply email. Does this happen to only one particular file you attempt to download, or any file you attempt to download?

Some sites give you access to a download via a pop-up, but with SP2, Internet Explorer blocks pop-ups by default, so it would seem that your download is not progressing.

eric, if you're trying to download a file from the web using internet explorer, try single clicking the file instead. most links on the web are single click-able.
