Maybe so, but it's not in any space you'd be getting back. Leaving it out might add a couple hundred K to the File-Store or Built-in-Storage, but more likely the OEMs would just fill it with something else you don't want.

For the majority of folks I bet MP is just fine. There would be more outcry if no media capability were provided, leaving that up to the consumer to add.
