I am debating between the lower end X50 (416mHz) and the mid level (512mhz). I don't think the processor speed will matter to me much. The only major difference that would be nice seems to be the wi-fi. So I want to ask, which is used to connect to the internet if you are in your home? Can you connect with bluetooth? I don't frequent places that have hot spots very often so the only time I would use my PDA for internet access would be at home. So can this be done with bluetooth or wi-fi (or both). I don't have bluetooth enable phone either. Thanks for any help. Mike

Connecting to the internet, wirelessly, at home, can be done with eithe BT or WiFi. Assuming you have either an Access Point for WiFi or BT capability on some PC at home. You can add the BT with a simple USB device. WiFi is of course significantly faster, and with BT you are kind of restricted to using ActiveSync passthrough. The experience is much like what you get sittng in the cradle.

You are right about the speed probably not making much difference, but the low end also has significantly less Built-in-Storage, Dell's name for the user accessible ROM. That's a great place to load applications that are immune to making sure the right flash card is inserted. Of course with two slots, SD and CF, you can keep a card in there fairly permanantly. Don't forget you can always get a CF or SD WiFi card if that becomes a desire later.
