Anyone think Nintendo 64 emulation is possible for the PPC when new PPCs come out w/GPUs, fast CPUs, & D3DM? Like later this year?

Possible? Yes. But I doubt it's going to happen. N64 is a (suprise!) 64-bit system, and only the most recent and powerful processors can handle the ROMs at any decent level. So, since the scaled-down 32-bit RISC processors in PDAs aren't nearly up to snuff with the desktop versions, and the lack of a great GPU, I think it'll be a few years before you can play Super Smash Brothers on your PDA, if ever.

Maybe good programming is the question here. Remember Corn? That N64 emulator ran on my PII-350 128 MB computer, several years ago. It ran Super Mario 64 in perfect speed (compared to other emulators which could barely do anything on my P2-350). Wouldn't the emulation depend specifically on the emulator's design? Putting Corn into consideration, I think it would be more possible? I read one website's description of Corn: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/n64/corn.html , and it read:
"This used to be without a doubt the fastest Nintendo 64 emulator available at that time(and it is?). It ran at full speed, with full sound on my old Pentium 233 with 3DFX Voodoo 1. Imagine what Corn can do on a system way more powerfull than that...
Unfortunately it isn't very accurate though. Both of the games I played (Super Mario 64 and WaveRace) showed some serious emulation defects. But those defects didn't make the games unplayable fortunately. "
If N64 emulation was made like Corn w/95% perfection by the end of this year, I wonder what Nintendo would think about that?

I don't think they would like it - I can only think of a big-scale sue.

Before wanting to get one on the PPC you may want to wish you had 1 N64 emu that actually was good at emulating all of the different roms.
