While its unlikely that this will do the book justice (that is a lofty goal after all) I am really loking forward to seeing this. If its even half as good as the book then it should be great. 8)
I was wondering where Zaphod's Head#2 was until... Oh well, it would be too visually distracting to have them both at the same time I supposed.
I would watch it, definitely.
Was that Marvin? That was too cute to be depressing.
At first I thought that robot was the killer white robot from planet whatisthename. But since it showed up when Arthur met Zaphod, that must be Marvin.
I see merchandising potential equivalent to the red Swingline Stapler.

I thought the same things when watching the trailers. I think that after seeing the TV show (http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/articles/h/hitchhikersguide_7773385.shtml), one could be disappointed with any new visuals. I really like the narrative that was shown in the TV series and wonder if it will reappear in any way in the movie.
I also wonder which books the movie will encompass.
