memmaid kills my avantgo

twice now ive used memmaid to remove my avantgo cache files, the second time accidentally. after it removes all the files, when i try to launch avantgo, i get to the username password screen.

if i input the info when not connected to the desktop, it tells me that it will sync next time. it doesnt. then when connected, it downloads everything, but i cant get past the username and password screen, despite the fact that i ca see avantgo in activesync downloading all the files. i have to remove avantgo from my system and reinstall.

am i doing something wrong? is this a bug?

I don't think it's a bug. When you go into Quick Cleaner, make sure the Avantgo Cache Files are deselected. I remember reading something about this being problematic if you use Avantgo. Fortunately, the default setting already deselected Avantgo. The bottom line is that if you use Avantgo you don't want Memmaid cleaning their cache files.

The version number is inthe about dialog (exact version number is in the lower-right corner of the about screen)

Now my temp. int. files are not in the same location and seem to be limited in size so that I can't view any pictures of any size over a few kb. I see them in PIE, but they don't end up in the casche. Just wondering if memaid did this or could it be another reason.

It might be another reason cause MemMaid doesn't have any control over the limit of AvantGo cache.

Actually the Avantgo cache is fine. It's the PIE cache that is limited and the memmaid cache size is set at the max. I am using an iPaq 2210 that I did a ROM upgrade to ver. 1.1 just before installing memmaid, so I'm not sure if the upgrade changed the temp.int. file location that used to be under windows/profiles/guest but is now just under the windows directory. Any thoughts? Really don't want to do a hard reset.

What you need to do is re-download MemMaid again as the latest version is 1.42.05 which has a fix for AvantGo latest released version.

Make sure that you do clean at least once for the AvantGo cache using the latest version of MemMaid (this will fix the password problem).

then from now on, everytime you do a clean for AvantGo, it will ask you for the password only one time.

isnt working for me

avant go open, on cradle, activesync sees avantgo_activesync as unresolved

input username and pass, avantgo_pda starts syncing (your channels are updating...), avantgo_activesync runs through normally.

activesync thinks avantgo is sync'd, pda is still on "enter account information" screen.

Why not put your AvantGo cache on a storage card and you can leave them alone because they won't be taking up precious RAM?

it's not that much of an issue, i just havent been cleaning out avantgo, since cleaning it is a deselectable option

i just wanted to post the bug. i actually have to install it again today since i messed it all up last night with the previous post.
