I just bought the rx3115. This made me raise a question......

How much faster is my HP 2215 (400mhz Xscale) Vs the rx3115 (300mhz Samsung 2440).

This question has been raised and answered.

Answer = The 400mhz Xscale isnt much faster!

1. DONT look at the stupid SPB benchmarks you see online. They have been proven wrong and inaccurate time and time again. Spb banchmarks are absolutly worthless and mean nothing when comparing 2 different CPUs

2. Below is a webpage I quickly whipped up proving the 2215 with its 400mhz xscale CPU isnt much faster at all then the samsung 300mhz 2440 CPU. Side by side you can see the frames per second on each PPC while playing a 1441 kbps video file off identical SD cards. To the left you have the 2215 and to the right you have the rx3115....the picture dosnt lie my friends. The 2215 is hardly faster.

How can this be?? you may ask yourself....well the samsung went the "centrino" route with the 2440 CPU. Which means instead of focusing on high clock speeds Samsung decided to make the 2440 process more info per clock cycle so even though its only 300mhz its nearly as fast as a 400mhz Xscale. This is another reason why the rx3000 series get simply amazing and unheard of battery life compared to Xscale based PPCs.
