View Full Version : Bluetooth Stack Update for Toshiba e830 version 5.01

There is a bluetooth stack update for the Toshiba e830. Maybe all 800 series.

I've went around in circles about but decided to try it.

So here's how it went.

Okay so I decided to take the plunge.

1.Board the plane: Downloaded the update.

2. Strapped on the Parachute: Ran Sprite Backup.

3. Jumped out the plane: Installed Stack update.

4. Landed on my feet: Checked settings my stats have indeed changed.

New Stats
Bluetooth Settings>Options>>About
Version 5.01
for Pocket PC 2003
Build 20040831


Settings>System Information
Bluetooth Driver: 5.0.1.3

My original Stats Were
On Toshiba e830 under Bluetooth Settings >> Options >> About, it says:

Version 5.00
for Pocket PC 2003
Build 20040804

But under Settings >> System tab >> System Information >> Drivers tab, it says:

Bluetooth Driver: 5.0.1.1

Although, just fyi, its still up in the air as to the nature of this download. Some say that the e830 already has the latest. My version numbers certainly changed to a higher number though.


It is curious at why its only on the German site. :?:

I'm keeping an eye out for any funny behavior.

Well, I had to restore my PDA last night.

Don't think it was the stack though. This is second time that I had to do it.
The first time was before I even installed the stack.

I might re-install it later, but I off to other things.

i don't think this stack is intended for the e830, and I really doubt it would offer any improvement over the original stack on the e830. By looking at the number, you can tell this is a very minor update, 5.00 vs 5.01.

This version is for all Toshiba BT PDA's (so also e830) including every Toshiba SD BT card (1,2,3). Just read the PRODUCT INFO section of the mentitioned webpage (-> Compatibility List).
