Audiovox PPC4100 Unknown Icon, when I tap the signal strength icon!

I get the standard black square with a white G in it which stands for the data connection, but next to that I also now have what looks like a solid black cone wide at the bottom and narrow at the top like a dunce cap or a fat arrow pointing up! I can find no reference to this in any manual! Please help?

That icon indicates that the phone portion of the device is currently connected to a cellular network other than your default carrier. If you click on the signal strength icon, you'll usually find the carrier shown in the pop up "Connectivity" window. This icon is useful if your cellular plan charges you extra for roaming.
