I have an iPaq 3765. Is WMP 10 compatible with my ppc? And if so where do I get it?
-Thanks

WMP 10 will only be available if HP releases a ROM update for your iPAQ and then only directly from HP. There is no user-installable version of WMP 10 as a stand-alone app upgrade.

The iPAQ 36xx/37xx/38xx series are not supported any more by Compaq/HP. This is why there's not even WMP8.5 for the 36xx (lack of decent ppc2k2 euu3 uprade) / WMP9 for the 37xx (lack of WM2003 uprade). So, there will never be WMP10 for the 3765.

it is so sad that hp abandons their products in a very short time.
my fancy 2215 is only 1 years old and is considered as an old device

It is sad. I think thats one of my major complaints about PDA's/Phones most of them are not largely supported and since you can't have that large support base within the matter of a couple years its a dinosaur.

Unfortunately, this is pretty commin in consumer electronics. No digicam manuacturers actively develop new firmware revisions for older digicam models, for example. An example: the less than 3-year-old HP 850 (500 US$) has a very bad demosaic algorithm, which could have been corrected afterhand (newer HP digicams have much better demosaic algorithm), even after 2 years (fortunately, I've managed to sold the camera after seeing how bad it was in a few weeks after buying it). The fix/upgrade has never been released.

So, WMP 10 is not available for ppc at all? Am I understand that correctly?

Only when released by OEMs for specific devices. It won't be available for a download from Microsoft.

Not as a stand-alone product. It's offered in the WM2003 upgrade, but HP, if I recall correctly, is not providing this for the h3765.

WMP9 is not available for the 36xx/37xx series (see above). The latest version you can install is 8.5, available in EUU3.

Thanks, can I upgrade my 3765 to the latest operating system, or is that non-upgradeable?

No. See the post I made above. Unfortunately, and if my memory isn't failing me, HP have neglected the h3765 in the upgrade path to Windows Mobile 2003.

It's not upgradable, not even to WM2003. See http://pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16788 for the story - HP did start porting WM2003 to the 36xx/37xx series, but, for financial reasons, dropped the project/didn't release the upgrade.
