Im having problems trying to set up a partnership with my pda, i have Activesync installedd, i open activesync settings on pda, click "connect via IR...", i then click get connected on the PC. It recognises that theres an IR connection and plays the connected sound, but on the pda it just sits at "User Authenticated" then timesout.

Ive tried uninstalling both usb ir and active sync, resetting the pda to no avail.

PDA: Audiovox PPC4100 running Windows Mobile 2003
Activesync: 3.7.1 and ive also tried 3.8
IR: Kingsun SF-620 USB Infrared Adapter.

Any clues?

Managed to get it to connect to activesync by lowering the speed, it connects but they activesync locks up. If i end process it comes up with the partnership wizard, i think thats whats making activesync lock, but if i try to partner the device it just comes up with an error because i already ended the task.

Frustrating.

You have an unusual setup. While I know of many who use IR to sync, I've never known someone who used a USB IR adapter to do it.

Are you sure that IR adapter isn't the issue? Are you able to use it successfully to beam files to and from your PDA (ActiveSync is not required to do this)? My other question is in regards to your version of ActiveSync. Are you using the version that came with your PDA or did you do a fresh install from the MS website. I've found in the past that the latter does not always work... you're better off establishing your connection using the version that came with the CD first.
