Hello all! I recently switched from an HP2210 to the Dell Axim x50v and I think I have found the best of everything in this unit! Beautiful screen, great connectivity, nice design. I am a Network Administrator and use this device daily in my job (and as a fun toy). I need to find a network sniffer that will run on the WM2003SE OS. Airscanner used to have the best, but it only ran on my older iPAQ 3950. I have a very specific need for this application and have been running into poor programs all over the place. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Cameron

I use a freeware product called "WiFiFoFum" which works great on my Axim x50v.

You may also want to keep your eye on WiFi Graph. (http://www.kasuei.com/wifigraph/) It's still relatively new, but I can slowly see device support expanding and the product itself becoming a big hit.

I came accross a software package in the past, but have not been able to locate any recent news of the product. They have been working on upgrades and redesigning their forums. TigerSuite PDA is the perfect solution for me. I got in touch with the company and they provided me with outstanding support late into the evening on configuration for a particular part of the app for my company. The product contains a tools for port scanning, trojan scan, IR/Wireless scanning, service detection and penetration, and a slew of other tools. The item is priced at less than $20, and the support has made the purchase worth much more than the cost. I am not into advertising, but when I find something that works this well, I think it should be shared. If you are a Security Admin/Tester, definitely consider this application for your toolkit.

Looks good, but no X50 support yet.

actually it does run on x50vs. as long as your device supports NDIS version 5+ it will run. I am using it right now. (RC3)

Hi,

I'm new in WiFi world. Is a snifer a useful utility for somebody who is traveling in different town trying to find Hotspot? (I'm not even sure if my question is stupid or not... )

Or I should manage to use a a web site like this?
