Pocket PC Windows Media Player : play MP3 files on desktop PC

I can now play INDIVIDUAL MP3 files on my iPAQ 4150 Windows Media Player, after I have mapped my desktop PC's harddisk using the Resco File Explorer on iPAQ.

But my problem is, I cannot add new file to the WMP's playlist because WMP cannot "see" the mapped desktop pc's harddisk. Also I cannot select/play any MP3 file which is in the mapped desktop pc harddisk.

Any solution please?

Thanks!

You can either locally or on the desktop edit your playlist files in a text editor. You can find the internal format of ASX playlist files at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15948&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=10 (a quite long post has been written on it; even when it's sorting-related); you'll need to put your desktop file URL's in the \\<machine name>\<share name>\<filename> format in the ASX.

It's not at easy as just using WMP to add shared files to your playlist, bust still much easier than any other way - e.g., not using network-enabled playlists at all.
