Call them "tweaks," "hacks," or "undocumented features." Whatever the name, they give you the power tools you need to adjust the system to meet your particular tastes. Unfortunately, as Stuessey's observation puts it "With power tools, it is far easier to rip things to shreds than it is to put something together." Wouldn't it be great to be able to harness the power of all those tweaks and hacks available for Windows CE/Pocket PC without the fear of turning your Pocket PC into an paper weight with a bad attitude? That's what Tweaks2k2.NET is designed to do."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20050126-Tweaks2K2.gif" /><br /><br />Russ at pocketnow.com recently had a look at the "overlord" of tweaks and the "dominator" of hacks - Tweaks2K2 .NET. Most of you should be familiar with what Tweaks2K2 .NET is capable of, but for those of you new to the Pocket PC world, there's a high chance that you would like to get a little more out of your powerful device. If so, have a read of the review. You'll probably appreciate what Tweaks2K2 .NET has to offer.

Most important question... Does it do anything about the "No Alarms" bug?

I see the wakeup timer option is there, but does it actually work? I haven't gotten an alarm on my PPC since I got my 2215 and I really miss alarms :-(

(PS: Do any of you guys who have Axim X50v's and the newer Ipaq's have this issue anymore?)

I'm a bit embarassed to say I discovered this nice tweaking tool just yesterday when I was searching for a way to make the Activesync Remote Display Developer PowerToy to work in VGA.
Is it because I tend to "avoid" anything .NET like?

Btw I have version 3.1.0.0 while pocketnow mention v3.0.0.0.

3.1 was released just a few days ago.

Out there does not exist a 100% solution for that problem though
what you see included in Tweaks2K2 helps a lot.

Well, regardless of whether it works / helps or not, I bought it anyway. There are a couple of nifty hacks in there and I already set them up. It's a well done program for people who don't like digging around in the registry, and Kudos on a great idea.

Well worth the money, and highly recommended!

I am very happy with this program. The latest Avango 5.0 does not really support memory card and VGA.
I tried to use brute force on this and the avantgo was unreadable. Could you do something about it?
Thank you

I can find for you the avantgoīs tech support email. ;) I was joking.
Ok, there are two kind of programs, those designed thinking about an automatic adjustment of the objects in the screen and those programs designed thinking about a fixed screen size. Avantgo was designed thinking about a fixed screen size of 240x320. In the first group if you pass the information to the program about a new screen resoluction the program by itself will readjust the objects positions and size on the screen. In the second group when you pass to the program that same information the program does nothing. Thatīs all. What my program does is to pass programs that information, what the program do depend of how it was designed and that canīt be changed unless you talk to the programmer of that program and he-she changes the way it was designed.

completly worth the money, an aplication valuable for any VGA pocket pc owner. The VGA Brute force helps aplications not being aware of the VGA resolution take advandage of the hi resolution screen. Applied per application which need it makes it a killer hack. Not like useless se_vga and similar apps which actually remove funtionality from the os and fool people what they are getting more from their pocket pc.

Crazy suggestion: change the timezone to something else, then change it back. It should shift your appointments then shift them back. Don't change anything else, then let me know if your alarms become more reliable.
